Since returning home on Saturday, it’s been a case of a slow, steady recovery for Connie. She’s doing well, but still not ready to take on regular tasks. As she’s felt better, she’s been able to do a few more things. We definitely want to guard against the common problem of doing too much too fast. I’m thankful that I have a flexible work arrangement that allows me to work at home and spread my 8 hours a day over the whole day (start early and finish late). Connie isn’t able to drive, so the majority of my time is taken up bringing the kids to music, therapy, basketball practice, etc.
All of this has been a little more difficult for me since my back went out this past Sunday. I guess the night on the “sofa, bed-like” furniture in the hospital took its toll since my lower back is having trouble keeping up. We’ve been a pretty sad sight. After a couple visits to Todd (chiropractor), I’m feeling a good bit better and I hope the progress continues. For my part, I’ve been trying to pick up the slack as much as possible (yet have been found to be woefully inadequate at performing the tasks of two people).
We shall survive and before you know it we’ll be back on track. It just takes time. Special thanks to those that have brought meals. It has been appreciated.
